I'm an American, but I grew up all over the place because my father was in the Army. I was in the Air Force for a few years and saw a little more of the world. I consider myself lucky to have lived in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Panama.
My first exposure to Turkish foods were Doner Kebabs in Germany. I was hooked the first time I had one and I've been on a quest to make a good one since, but nothing seems replace the vertical grill. Once I got to Turkey I found I all sorts of other great foods.
Anyway I love cooking, especially Mediterranean foods and hopefully I can help as much as I ask questions.
My apologies for not speaking Turkish, I've noticed a few natives on the forum and I really wish I could remember the little bits I learned while I was there.
