GREEN BEANS With OLIVE OIL
8 Servings1 and 1/2 glasses of water1 kilo of green beans (not thin ones)1/2 soup spoon salt, 1/4 sugar2 and 1/2 coffee cups olive oil2 medium onions2 medium tomatoes If the green beans have strings, remove them by cutting off the whole area around them. Wash and cut them in half. Pour the oil into a saucepan. Add the green beans, the peeled sliced tomatoes, sugar, salt and water. Cover. Cook for 1 hour until the green beans are cooked. Only a little sauce should remain in the saucepan by the time the beans are ready to be served. Serve cool.
